The fear of terrorist attacks against civil targets has increased recently. One of the most frightful scenarios is the use of airborne chemical, biological or radiological (CBR) weapons against unprotected civilians. Of particular concern are airports where such an attack may cause extensive injury and severe impact on the aviation industry and the whole economy of the European Union. The AIRSECURE project aims to improve the security of passengers and workers at airports by a comprehensive approach including risk analysis for identifying the high-risk areas, novel protective filtration systems, proper air distribution, and detectors for early warnings of threat.
The Airsecure seminar will be the final activity of the Airsecure project. Participation in the seminar and networking drinks are free of charge and offered to you by the Airsecure consortium. During the seminar, the Airsecure project will be presented. The seminar will promote the implementation of the Airsecure system and awareness of its need, and will discuss practical experience with its implementation. The seminar will show the Airsecure project as an example of successful cooperation between the Commission, SME’s and research institutes that jointly improved the competitiveness of the SME’s while developing a product that helps to make Europe a more safe and secure place.
The seminar is a great opportunity to meet and network with European researchers and industry and with representatives from the European Commission. This seminar will be of particular interest to those interested in the upcoming 2nd call of the 7th Framework.
